Many thanks to Jeff for adding this one to my Elvis collection. Elvis at Graceland, home on leave from the army and basic training in the summer of 1958.
Typical of the English type of architecture are these double houses of eighteenth century aspect. This East Bay Street scene is near the site of Vanderhorst Row, a three story building believed to be the first apartment house built in America. Thank you, Elena!
Steven Ray Vaughan (October 3, 1954 - August 27, 1990) born in Dallas, Texas; was an American musician and guitarist. He was ranked #7 by Rolling Stone magazine in its list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.
Lovely 1968 bluebird postcard from Barbara. The bluebird is a native of Missouri and was made the official bird of the state by the Fifty-fourth General Assembly by an act passed in 1927. This scene is from the original canvas, painted especially to give true rendition to the official state bird by Ken Haag.
This card makes me chuckle because I have seen so many people on Facebook make a big production out of cleaning up their friends list. I guess I'm just too choosy about who I friend on Facebook because I've never had to conduct a cleaning exercise. Thanks for the giggle, Sarah!
One of my all-time favourite songs is Bela Lugosi's Dead by Bauhaus. Yet, I don't think I have ever seen a Bela Lugosi movie. Should probably fix that.
Carrie Lippincott - "Pioneer Seedswoman of America" dealt exclusively in flower seeds marketed to women and grew her business from 6000 orders in 1891 to 150,000 in 1896.
My bffs went to Moonbeam and all the sent me was this lousy postcard! Ha, just kidding. It's perfect and I'd been dying to have a card from Moonbeam. This one is complete with the special cancellation mark. Love it so much!
This is from a postcard book titled "Where the Bodies Are". All the photos are terrible, yet someone felt compelled to compile them into this postcard book. I actually love it... but I'm a bid weird that way. Famous graves is another theme I want to collect so this is a great start to that! Thanks, Jason!
Thank you to Kelly for this card from my favourites. The "Enchanted Royal Dollhouse" at Minature World has over 35 rooms fully furnished in period style.
The 200 foot tower and Sombrero Observation Deck framed with crepe myrtle blooms. If I were to see one thing in South Carolina I'd want it to be this!!!
White Rock, BC, Canada is known for its picturesque view of Mount Baker, quaint restaurants, art galleries and boutiques. t takes its name from the rock of Semiahmoo legend, standing sentinel on the sandy beach facing the USA across the bay.
Aerial view of the Triton Inn in Sarasota, Florida. Coffee shop, lounge, heated pool, 200 feet of beautiful Gulf beach, 1 & 2 room efficiencies, Hotel Rooms, colour television, air conditioning.
Located in the lobster capital of the world is the Giant Lobster Sculpture. Shediac, New Brunswick created this sculpture in 1989 to promote it's main resource. Love it! Thank you to Annik for this one.
Barbara contacted me saying she'd like to send me a postcard. Who am I to refuse a postcard!? This card is a real gem!! She even went the extra mile by decorating the back side with Elvis stamps, musical washi tape and music stickers. So perfect in every way! Thank you so much for all your efforts Barbara!
Another fun Nancy Drew book cover from my good swapping buddy Eric! I do wonder what exactly the secret is and why the horse looks so spooked! Feel free to comment with your spoilers! :)
