Fort Michilmackinac (say that ten times fast) contains a wealth of interesting and historic displays. It was where fur traders and Indians rendezvoused, where French and British officers organized war parties, and explorers began their journeys into the vast western unknown.

America's most talked about hotel, the Regency Hyatt House, is uniquely designed and has no parallel in hotel architecture. This magnificent 1,000 room structure has a covered atrium 23 stories high! The interior of the atrium features circular glass-enclosed high speed elevators, a 70 foot water fountain and an elevated cocktail lounge with a  pendulous parasol cover.  Atop the hotel is the revolving Polaris restaurant offering a panoramic, moving view of the Atlanta skyline.

January 2016 NA RR - Mission San Juan Bautista

Another beautiful California mission.

The Bell tower or campanario at San Juan Bautista was rebuilt in 1976 as part of a larger mission restoration.  It replaced a wooden tower that was architecturally inconsistent with the rest of the mission and had been removed in 1949.

Fans of Alfred Hitchcock's "Vertigo" will know this is where the movie was filmed.

I love this unique Holiday Inn card that Eric sent me! 

It's different from the normal ones you see and it is not tied to any specific HI location.  Look at the Gulf sign ... HI signed an agreement with Gulf in 1963 where it agreed to accept Gulf credit cards to charge food and lodging at all of its US and Canadian hotels in return for Gulf building service stations on many Holiday Inn properties, particularly near major U.S. and Interstate highways. 

This card is an absolute gem! Thank you!
