February NA RR - Motel Metropole

Another fine motel card for this month's round robin.  This gem is from Christine in Montreal whose family actually once stayed at this fine establishment.  It featured 275 deluxe units, air conditioning, tv, radio, steak house, bar, coffee shop and heated swimming pool.

Christine writes that is now known as the Hotel-Motel Excel.

Febraury 2015 NA RR - Andrew Motor Lodge

This is exactly the kind of motel postcard I love!  I love when ail the fine details of the room are shown.  Orange couches, yellow vinyl chairs, fake flowers and a ashtray. Perfection!  Thanks Michelle for this wonderfully tacky card from the "luxurious Andrew Motor Lodge in Jasper National Park, Canada.  Owned by George Andrew & Sons.  Open all year round. Tiled bathrooms.  Thermostatically controlled heat.  Wall to wall broadloom."

My friend Google tells me this fine establishment was purchased by Mountain Lodges n March 1st, 1988 from The Andrew family. The original structure was built in 1958 by the Andrews. After an extensive renovation program, the 97 rooms were renamed Amethyst Lodge in May of 1990.

February 2015 NA RR - Bavarian Inn Lodge

Located in Frankemuth, Michigan this beautiful lodge with its German architecture has something for everyone.  A pefect place for a family getaway with 154 rooms, 3 indoor swimming pools with whirlpools, 2 game rooms, 18 hold miniature golf, snack bar and a unique Children's Bavarian Village.

Here is the charming Vagagond Motel from my swap buddy Eric.  Located on the Golden Mile of Treasure Island in St. Petersburg, Florida. Doesn't that pool look inviting?  The motel features fourteen spacious, attractively furnished rooms, apartments and suites.  Electric heat. Air conditioning.Tile baths, tub and shower in each unit. Located close to all sports, churches, shopping centers and fine restaurants.   Be sure to tell Mr. and Mrs. Marty McGee that roxy sent you!  :)

I love the Madonna Inn!  This is room 191, Misty Rocks.  Ideal for honeymooners because of it's feeling of seclusion.  Misty Rocks is done in lush green colours. The wet rock effect and green colour scheme makes one feel in touch with nature. 

That's one way of putting it. :)

August NA RR - Krazy Dazy!

"Daisies are the “friendliest” flower and our cordial arrangement of these cheerful flowers is fanciful, fun and designated “Krazy Dazy”! Pink shag carpet, large pink and white daisies against a bright green backdrop, white iron bed frame and simple white shutters highlight the room’s sunny disposition. The bathroom has a pedestal sink and the tiled shower blossoms in colorful tones of pink and blue. This room is located on the 3rd floor and is furnished with a queen-size bed."

This is San Luis Obispo, California's Madonna Inn. Krazy Dazy is just one of many themed rooms at the Inn!  Thank you Mike, for this amazing card!  You can't go wrong with pink shag carpeting. You can't!  Now I want to go for an extended visit and stay in every room!!!  Anyone up for a road trip? :)

August NA RR - Branscombe's Motor Inn

Located 18 miles west of Ottawa on Highway 7 in Carleton Place was Branscombe's Motor Inn.  Featuring 30 extra large rooms, some with kitchen facilities, completely air conditioned, color tv and cablevision. Your hosts, Ron and Iva Branscombe.  Sadly Ron passed away in 2010.

Swap - Stewart Crossing Lodge

Another great card from Alida!  This is Stewart Crossing Lodge located at the old ferry landing on the Stewart River in the Yukon.  Features accomodation, coffee shop, gas and tire repairs.  Alida noted that the take-out part looks like an outhouse!  And could they not have removed the garbage can before taking the photo? :)
