USA - Greetings from District 12

Lovely card from Dawn and her family.  District 12 is from the Hunger Games, the poorest of the districts. That much is clear from the state of the houses.  Dawn and her family live in North Carolina where much of the Hunger Games was filmed.  This card is fabulous but Dawn went above and beyond the call of duty by including 4 Elvis postcards.  Woohoo!  Thank you so much!  A thank you postcard is on its way to you!  :)

Wow. Thud.  I just about died when I received this postcard from my wonderful swap buddy Eric.  He pulled out all the stops with this one and gave me the most perfect postcard!!  It's a Wonderful Life is a family tradition every Christmas here and has been for years, so to receive this card WITH a Jimmy Stewart stamp AND the Seneca Falls (aka Bedford Falls) postmark...I am thrilled to pieces.  This one will be cherished for sure! Thank you so much for the extra efforts with this one Eric!

Swap - Things Happen in Threes

I recently exchanged cards with Kristen who's in Illinois.  She wanted hockey postcards and I was able to give her three options.  In the end I sent her all three (an Ottawa Senators card, an Andy Warhol card featuring Wayne Gretzky, and a Canada tourist card with kids playing hockey) and she sent me back three cards in exchange.   She had so many great cards for trade that I couldn't decide so I mentioned a bunch and had her surprise me.   She did good! :)

Who doesn't love a big shiny object?  This is Cloud Gate or "The Bean".  This sculpture was not there when I visited Chicago or it's for sure I would have been there taking selfies. :)
