February 2016 NA RR - Glendive

At first Glendive was a great hunting and fur trading town. In the year 1880 Northern Pacific Railroad caused the people to crowd in the area.  It has had the title of being a cattle empire. It also is famous for Moss Agate found in the area of the Yellowstone River.

All that information gleaned from the back of the card.  The only thing I didn't know was where the heck Glendive is.  So my bff Google informed me it's in Montana.

This is the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City (Tampa), Florida sent to me by Davida.  I absolutely love it ... what a gorgeous building!  This family owned restaurant is over 100 years old!

February 2016 NA RR - Streid's Motel

The Streid Family owned and operated this popular Route 66 destination for 33 years (1957-1980).  It featured a 32 unit motel and a 24-hour Standard Oil service station. It was well known for its air conditioned restaurant and cocktail lounge and featured a charcoal broiler and rotisserie that served up to 200 people.  Located at the Junction of Route 150 and Route 66, Bloomington, IL.

Aloha Motel and Restaurant, Rochester, NY.  Dine in a Paradise transplanted from the South Seas beside a beautiful blue shimmering pool and palm shaded Hawaiian bridge.  Exotic tropical drinks.  Private parties accommodated.  Take out orders specially prepared. Single rooms, double rooms, efficiencies.  

This is where we should have stayed when we were in Rochester a few months ago. Darn!
