July 2015 NA RR - Philippi Covered Bridge

Thank you Chrissy for this new covered bridge! So pretty.

This historic West Virginia covered bridge is located on  US RT 219 at Philippi.  The bridge was seized by union troops and used as barracks during the first land battle of the Civil War.  The war's first amputation was performed here.

Why does the post office insist upon damaging people's faces?!  Normally I don't mind the wear and tear as I think it shows character, shows the card traveled and made an effort to reach me...but in this case I'm not pleased. Oh well, you pays your money you takes your chances.
